I’ve been wanting to try LipSense forever! I’ve been a part of the Quadruple The Kisses Facebook group forever and always read everybody’s posts and want to try it so badly, but I hadn’t committed to getting a starter kit yet.
Kayla Greenstone of Running with Colors gave me that awesome opportunity. (Her blog is Running with Strollers). She gave me a complimentary starter kit in exchange for me writing my honest opinion of it. I literally almost died from joy when I was given this opportunity, since I’d been wanting to try it for so long.
For those who don’t know, Lipsense is a lip color that is waterproof and smudgeproof. It lasts anywhere from 4-18 hours (so long). They have over 35 shades, which are applied in three layers onto your lips. If you combine colors in your layers, you get even more colors!! Have I mentioned how excited I am yet?
I chose the color Pink Champagne, as I wanted to start with a more neutral pink because I wasn’t sure how well it would work on my lips. I received my starter kit in the mail just a few days after she sent it out.
Look at the cute packaging! It’s like a fairy delivering me a wonderful present. I got the package when I got home in the evening after work, so I planned on wearing it the next day for a full day of work.
Here’s what happened:
LipSense does sometimes burn upon first using it. But don’t let that deter you. If you have dry or damaged lips, LipSense helps to heal! The burning is generally the product healing your lips right away. It kills your dead skin and gets rid of any bacteria you may have. So basically it’s a good burn. (It’s honestly not that bad. Don’t worry).
My lips looked amazing
I don’t usually wear glosses, but LipSense requires a gloss to seal the color in. I was surprised with how I loved the look! The shine honestly made my lips look a little fuller. And my lips were super smooth with the gloss on. If you like a matte lip like me, don’t worry! The gloss does dry to a matte feel if you don’t keep applying the gloss throughout the day.
I ate lunch. There was no lipstick on my food or fork. I checked the mirror before going back to work. The color was still on. ….what?
That day I had my drink of choice: maple water. Yes, that is literally tree sap. ANYWAYS the bottle of DrinkMaple is white. Literally almost every time I’ve had maple water (which is super frequently) there has been a pink or red stain on the white bottle from my lipstick. I finished the whole bottle with no mark on the bottle. Zero. The bottle was still as white as when I bought it. This was the moment that I noticed the most, as this has never happened to me.
It was still there!
I had put it on about 10:30am that day. I was out and about and at work all day. I did not reapply anything. By the time I got home it was about 8:30pm. That’s 10 hours! I kept it on for a few more hours, so all-together it was on for probably 12 hours before I went to take it off.
I couldn’t take it off
It came time to go to bed and I went to take my makeup off. I used the Oops Remover that was provided in the kit and tried so hard to get every bit off. It was difficult. That’s how good it is. It’s difficult to take off – after 12 hours – even with the remover! Holy lips!
I have heard of other methods to take it off with, such as pure coconut oil or witch hazel, so I may need to invest in some of those.
I wanted more
The most dangerous part for me: wanting more. Even after just 1 day of wearing it! I want to try brighter and more vibrant colors now that I know it works so well! I want to combine colors. I want a color for every outfit I could ever wear. OH BOY.
Try it yourself:
Find a distributor. Facebook is the best place for that. There are so many groups! Try either of them listed above! These groups also usually provide videos for how to put it on, take it off, and any other question you may have! One of the things that drew me to LipSense was the support that I saw in different groups. It’s amazing! Not only is it a great product, but the people are great too!
